This year, the Asia Pacific Cosplay Championship will take place at the final day of GCA 2009. For the first time the event will be hosted in cooperation with the GO3 Electronic & Entertainment Expo.
Everybody, who is wearing a costume inspired/derived from popular culture, is welcome to join the competition. This includes anime, manga and video games(console and computer).
At the end of the event prices will be awarded to the best, fanciest and most creative costumes in the following categories...
- BEST MALE COSTUME
- BEST FEMALE COSTUME
- BEST GROUP COSTUME
Finally, we also choose the best overall costume presented during the competition in Singapore. The winner will be awarded a trip to the Grand Final of the Asia Pacific Cosplay Championship in Perth on October 4, 2009. The Grand Final will be hosted by the GO3 Electronic & Entertainment Expo 2009 which takes place from October 1 to October 4 in Perth, Western Australia. There, the overall winner from Singapore will compete against the finalists of Perth and will compete for their share in prizes worth approximately $3000. The best overall cosplayer of the Grand Final will then be crowned "Asia Pacific Cosplay Champion 2009". For more information see www.go3.com.au.
